Underlying principle for education and ICT. There is no answer; there is no site, machine, software or solution that works for everyone, all of the time. Be smart, be choosy, pick and mix, be open and reflective. Plan IT If you are still using the QCA Scheme of Work there are lots of helpful sites, not least, Primary Resources. If you are working on the creative curriculum go visit other schools, now is the time to integrate ICT into all childrens learning. Do IT Daily, frequently, go through the cycle slow at first, fast at last. Used wisely IT will speed things up, increase productivity and performance. Find IT If you have bought into espresso or big red bus, great, but don't forget the free sites and resources especially the BBC site. Buy IT After 5 years your computers will no longer be counted in the pupil PC ratio. You should be able to get a leasing deal over 3 years, £30,000 of equipment/software for about £11,000 a year. Train
IT Use
your school budget to get training, specific, discrete, feeding straight
into daily practice. If you spend £10,000 on technology,
budget also for training, to get value for money. |
